José M. Aguado is Professor of Medicine at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and Head of the Infectious Diseases Unit of the Hospital Universitario 12 de Octubre in Madrid. Completed their training at the Institute of Transplantation, University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. He is past-Chairman of the Study Group of Infection in Compromised Patients (ESGICH) of the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID). Coordinator of the Program of Transplant Infections of the National Network of Infectious Diseases (REIPI). Assistant Editor of Transplant Infectious Diseases. He has published over 350 articles, most of them related to the infection in transplant recipeints and other immunocompromised patients.
