Miriam is a nurse and paediatrician by training and has been was an adolescent medicine physician from 1984 until a few months ago, when she retired. Her main patient population was been young people with transplants (and pre-transplant) helping them deal with issues of adherence, sexuality, identity, peers, family relationships, adaptation to life with a transplant and transition to adult care. Miriam misses her great patients and colleagues, but has started a new career in goldsmithing and lampwork in her 62 sq ft (5.8 m2) studio.
