Dr. George Mazariegos is Professor of Surgery and Critical Care Medicine and Chief of Pediatric Transplantation at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC, the Hillman Center for Pediatric Transplantation and the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute. His research interests include surgical techniques and long term outcomes after pediatric liver and intestine transplantation, immunosuppression withdrawal, and immune and graft surveillance. He serves as President of the Intestinal Rehabilitation and Transplant Association (IRTA), Councilor of the International Pediatric Transplant Association (IPTA) and Immediate Past Chair of Studies in Pediatric Liver Transplantation (SPLIT). He holds the Jamie Lee Curtis Endowed Chair in Pediatric Transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh.
